Complete in Christ

When you become a born-again believer, you become in Christ. In Christ, you have all of God Himself within you (Colossians 2:9). God put everything you will ever need to live a godly life within you (2 Peter 1:3-4; 1 Corinthians 4:8). We are equipped by God to live in the divine nature of Jesus Christ during His earthly ministry. The Holy Spirit lives in us and He has retained the same power He had when He rose Jesus from the dead (Romans 8:11). We walk around with eternity inside of us (Ecclesiastes 3:11). God has put His name in you (Numbers 6:22-27). We are born of God, meaning we are made up of the same DNA that make up God (1 John 5:18). We have the mind of Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16; Phillippians 2:5). The Holy Spirit gives us His power in order to exercise authority and power over the devil (Mark 16:17-18; Luke 10:17-19). We are joint heirs with Christ (Romans 8:17). There is not a single thing missing within you. Everything you do can be done because Christ has empowered you (Philippians 4:13). We have everything when we have Christ (Colossians 2:10). We are complete.

I used to interpret this scripture (Colossians 2:9) to mean that the few things I have were enough to get through life (poverty mindset). However, I am more versed in the Bible now and I understand this verse to mean that we are endowed with extreme abundance that covers every possibility.

God has called all Christians to be a part of a royal priesthood (1 Peter 2:9). As royal priests, we are to rule (as kings and queens do) through prayer (as priests our method of ruling is prayer). Our prayers are supposed to dictate what goes on the earth in the name of Jesus (Matthew 18:18; Luke 10:19; Mark 11:23; Matthew 28:18; Colossians 1:13).

In Christ, everything belongs to us. The Lord owns the world (Psalm 24:1; 1 Chronicles 29:14; Genesis 1:1). However, He has temporarily given the earth to His children (Psalms 115:16). He has put everything under our feet (Ephesians 1:22-23). He will take the earth back when He comes back, but for now we are to rule and reign (Revelation 21:5; Revelation 5:9-10; 1 Corinthians 4:8; 1 Peter 2:9; 1 Corinthians 15:25).

There is to be absolutely no fear in us about anything (Isaiah 41:10; Psalm 23:3; Deuteronomy 31:6; Psalm 46:1; 2 Timothy 1:7; Philippians 4:13; Romans 15:13; Hebrews 11:1; Psalm 34:4; Romans 8:38-39; John 16:33; Proverbs 3:5-6; 1 Peter 5:7; Isaiah 26:3; John 14:1; Psalm 37:5; Philippians 4:6-7; James 1:5; Romans 12:12; 1 Thessalonians 5:17; Isaiah 40:31; 2 Peter 3:9). That is not an easy goal to reach, but because God has proclaimed it, I know it can be done.

I feel so much better knowing that in Christ, all things belong to me. God has things stored up for me like He did Abraham (Genesis 12:2), Moses (Exodus 5:22-6:11), Daniel (Daniel 12:1-3), David (2 Samuel 7:5-17), Job (Job 42:7-17), Solomon (1 Kings 9:1-9; 2 Chronicles 1:6-13), Mary (Luke 1:26-38), and the widow Elisha helped (2 Kings 1-7). God will release them to me at the right time.
